I have a 10 gallon aquarium that is a mixture of potting soil aquarium gravel and plant gravel. I am growing dwarf baby tear. there is about an inch of water. just yesterday I noticed some small flies tyhe kind of look like fruit flies there white in color. Any ideas of how to keep them out?

Do you have your tank covered at all? A lot of store owners i know will cover the tanks with a layer of cling film to keep humidity up and keep bugs of of tanks when setting up a tank using the immersed method...

another thing you could try, is to push the cling film maybe around 3" above the top of the plants, and then press the extra cling film around the inside of the tank to try and prevent bugs from climbing in?
