I have a pair of bullfrogs that I want to keep around my pond, and not in my yard where a roaming cat or my canine bully can eat them.
What I have come up with would be a 2.5 foot fence made of chicken wire. That' not very attractive, so I am going to train fast-growing vines onto it - morning glory is my first choice.

Anything better than this? Other than it being a bit taller.
This will not be trapping them in the pond, it will be about 2' out from the pond.

Remember, you want the fence to be designed to keep the dog out, not the frog in. So if your dog is a jumper or a digger, take that into account. I would push the fence out a little further; bullies use a good bit of space around the pond.

There are some nice looking twig fence rolls here: http://nga-gardenshop.stores.yahoo.net/fencing.html; a little pricy, but very attractive I think. Another option is wood lattice attached to posts.

The dog is question it rather scared of small fences, she get her head stuck is out small garden fence and ran around make the most awful noises with about 10' of fence behind her.

I probably will, I was thinking of adding a small boggy area just for the frogs, the fence would loop around it then back to the pond.

I think Noto is right, you want to think of it as keeping your cat and dog out, not the frogs in. Since Bullfrogs can burrow, if they want out they'll get out.

I plan on burying the fence about 2' deep, I don't see them getting under it...
And yes, I want to keep them in, I don't have a cat, but there a strays everywhere.
If my guys got out and decided the neighbors pond was nicer, they'd be gone and eaten. They're my pets, and I don't want them leaving my yard.

My dog won't go over anything over a foot tall, and if the fence is as tall as I want it, she can't see over it anyway.

I don't think a 5' fence would keep a determined cat out, rather less a 2' fence. You can double it if they still have claws. My declawed cats can clear a seven foot fence. The only thing I could think of is a mesh top, but that's not very pretty.

I am worried mostly of cats if my frogs leave the yard. I have 3 dogs running around, and after last time the cat came into my yard I have not seen him, she was on his heels all the way out of the yard.
