I have read that camelions are difficult to keep due to the fact that they are sensitve to enviroment changes. Is this true? Would this be a good starter lizard?

Chameleons make good first lizards if you do your research and understand their needs. They require UVB exposure, humidity around 60-70%, stable temps in the mid 80s, and don't drink standing water, so drip systems are employed to get them the water they need.

not half as hard as some say they are. automatic mister and good lighting are important. also a screened enclosure is best, no tanks.

I agree.
I've bred a ton of veileds, and think that screen cages are a necessity.
I use pothos for the hatchlings, and bigger cages w/ shefflera for the adults.
I strongly reccomend Mega-Ray 100W bulbs www.reptileuv.com, but these may be too intense for some species.
I gutload crickets w/ reliable protein product (insectivore fare) www.zoofoods.com
