Keeping Cichla together

Can you keep cichla of different sizes together? I currently have a 13" and today got 3 new 5-6" cichlas. The 13" has been chasing the smaller ones nonstop around the pond. Is this just over territory or will she eventually kill them??

She might eat them. depends on the pbass. I have a 20 inch temensis with 9 inch orinos, if I starved the tank for a week, he would most likely eat the orino.

I decided it wasn't worth losing 3 for 1. So I took the big one out of the pond. Thanks
