Keeping clarias catfish together ?

Any clarias catfish keepers on here ? Just looking to see what there like to mix , i have 2 of 11 inch that live fine together and just aquired one of 18" should the 3 be ok together or if the 2 what are together have paired will this cause problems etc

Depending on your tank/pond size and assuming you mean batrachus (the usual pibald or black) you should be fine. I find clarias to be social and adding more has never cause any issues.
They are really happy to share when young and at 11" they are still youngsters.

Yes i think they are the batrachus ,was planning to wait until they are about 15 inch them put them all in together, tank size will be a 6x2x2 or 8x2x2

Goes to show you that superficial data can be quite contradictory, which gave rise to the saying "Every tank differs".

Details matter in understanding why sometimes things go one way, while going the other way other times. Sometimes ichthyo-forensic troubleshooting and analysis is needed.

There must be a logical reason for this contradiction.

If not ID'ed, every tank differs :)

If kept in a smallish tank, it is quite understandable and expected that the fish that have just sexually matured would squabble in the same smallish space. Mine was 4500 gal. They could easily get out of each other's faces.

As to when small, mine were in a 55 gal. If they were small in a 500 gal, I think they'd be fine.

I think it is the smaller tank.
