I like the look of some plants from the Crinum genus on tropica.com is there anything that I should know about them?I know the grow very tall (some 200 cm +) but I was think of getting crinum nantans and some calamistatum i like the calamistatum better and i think I will ask a lfs to get me some in :grinyes:

Howdy,

I have C. natans. Substrate should be at least 4'' deep and fertilized. Needs strong water movement (is at the outlet of my 900 gph pump), soft to medium hard water (mine is 2 KH), pH 5.5-7.8.

C. calamistratum is said to grow slower than C. natans. It took about half a year for my C. natans to establish and grow. That's in agreement with what the literature says. They are slooooooooow growers. Plant the bulbs far apart, because they grow in diameter.

Howdy,

Maybe Cryptocoryne crispatula would work for you? Looks the same, just doesn't get several feet tall and has wider leaves.
