Hi everyone
So I live in Durban, South Africa
We are blessed with temperatures year round of an average of 24C. I have a pangasius sanitwongsei and 2 oscars that I'm looking to put in my outdoor pond. The pond is a 2m x 4m x 90cm rectangle. It is heated to 24C all year round. The catfish is 22cm, the Oscars are around 20cm. They are currently housed in a tank indoors. My plan is to put them in the outdoor pond. The problem I've had in the past are birds of prey taking my fish away, after putting a standard pool net over the pond, I've still had fish missing. I've found the reason to be monkeys taking my fish out, killing them, eating half and throwing them aside. . My question is, what can i do to prevent the monkeys and birds getting to my fish and at what size would it be reasonable to put my fish in the pond where they cannot be taken. The monkeys are vervet monkeys and the birds are mostly sparrow hawks and kestrels. I'm a college student as well so i can only afford precautions to a certain extent. All suggestions are welcome. I don't want to lose fish and i don't want to harm the wildlife. Sorry if i made any mistakes.
