Keeping flake food fresh?

I just got a whole case of flake food for free from a friend. Now i know i wont use it all for a while so what can i do to keep it fresh?

Keep the lid on at all times. Fish food is cheap so if it goes stale just buy some more. I use stale fish food to cycle aquariums.

Ziplock freezer bags, squeeze the air out upon closing, and store in freezer. Will last for a couple of years. You can vaccu-seal for the same duration but can omit the freezing requirement.
