Hi,

anybody keeping floating plants in thei arowana tank? I'm planning to add some hornwort to my arowana tank. just wondering if it will have any negative effect?
planning to add it to help absorb nitrate

anybody tried this?

thanks.

I can't see why this wouldn't work, I would plant the hornwart though in the substrate so the food doesn't get caught in the plants

go for it ;)

You can do it, but if anything food related gets tangled, the plant will be gone. You should consider some hardier plants that are also low light. Anubias, java ferns, and java moss are all good starters.

thanks! will get my hornwort later :)
i had anubias but they grow too slow :) and my silver dollars might eat them. Lost some anubias since my severums seem to love them :(

i just took out all three water lettuces from my silvers tank.. he didnt mind them but would swim lower in the tank so i just thought id give his space back.. feeding time was pretty cool with them but it just makes too much mess.. ill probably try something new..good luck

wow ! thats a really nice planted tank.
nice altums and aro as well :)
i don't think i can keep planted tank since it will need lots of light. My aro tank only recieves morning sunlight :)
