So I have heard a few people mention it but I’m not really finding a definitive answer.

Is it better to keep peacock bass in groups vs a solo fish or in with other fish as I know with most cichlids conspecific aggression is usually the biggest problem.

They like groups. feed better. The competition for food I think makes them eat better and try new foods. And dithers, got to have dithers .

So do you guys think a group of kels would be too much for a 380 gallon 7*3 aquarium. I know I’ve already asked this but I really feel like it may be a little much especially when I’m looking to have 1-2 larger cats in the tank as well with 3-4 larger polypterus as well. It’s more than likely going to have a drip system and a 70-90 gallon sump.

Oh and not to mention dithers as well. The more I think about it the more in feel like it’s going to be too heavy of a bio load...

It really depends on your filtration and your water change schedule. I have a group of cichla and a ray without any issues.

How big is your tank?

I mean like i said it’s going to be a 70-90 gallon sump and I plan to have 8-10 turnovers per hour on the tank. Also, there will be a drip system. I mean I guess I could go at this with trial and error mind set if it does end up being too heavy I could always thin the flock but idk.

6'x30"x2'. About 220 gallons or so and about another 60 gallons in sump volume plus my DIY K1 reactor. A new tank will be in the near future but I'm yet to have any bass outgrow this one.
