Keeping minnows...

Is there a best way to keep minnows.... Buy a 10g tank with a pump or is there a way to keep them in the big tank without fish over feeding?

It's funny u asked that cu I did the same ixact thi.g and all my minnows died. No filtration just a small pump and ill be fine.

i actually have fishing minnows stored in my piranha's tank. She ignores them. This is NOT normal, and I wouldn't really suggest trying it. I just didn't have the room in my little tank, and if the Piranha ate them, oh darn! XD

I kept mullets and they did fine in the tank but spook really easily.

Right,and plenty of oxygen by way of strong filter or power heads...Are you keeping them to be used as feeders?

Thanks everyone yeah using these as feeders for LMB crappie and catfish. Didn't know if there was some sort of floating tank that could be used instead of a separate tank or not

They like to chase each other a lot. I remember I kept minnows for a whole. I bought 12 and housed them in a 20 high. They killed each other and I ended up with 3.

ive always been a fan of keeping feeders in with my fish. unless they get hungry, most fish will rather eat shrimp or tilapia fillets than chase minnows. i always have shiners, rosies, and crayfish with my rhom and i notice if i dont feed for a few days they will start to disappear.
