ok, so i've got 2 4-5 inch convicts im going to breed.

my question is, can i keep another fish in there and let the convict parents defend their young or will this not work?

the reason i ask is i have another fish in there (about 3 inch) and done have anywhere else for it, it would kill me to get rid of it too....

what do you guys think? i know its not the best idea but want to know if it stood a chance?

x2 on "what size is your tank?"

I kept my biggest and punchiest demasoni (He was about 5") with my 2-3" Convict pair and they did fine until their babies hatched. Once their babies hatched, they murdered him in a 20 gallon long over night. I didn't think that would even happen because he was nearly 2x their size.

22 gallon mate, 3 foot long...

Cons are mean as can be with fry if the tank is that small no way id put other fish in the tank. What is the other fish by the way?

it's a dwarf snakehead.

they have been in the same tank now for a while now. they squable now and again but nothing bad.

if they are doing physical damage then get them out.
