keeping Rams with Kribs??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What what kind of filtration??? Rams require extensive thorough maintenance to keep up, they need pristine clear water with ph in the 6.2-6.7 range. Kribs should be fine with one pair. Good luck with keeping these special little guys, maybe some cockatoo apistos would look very nice instead of kribs.

should work fine, but kribs can get aggressive when breeding (of course). In my experience, a krib pair "territory" in a tank is up to 1.5 square feet. Unless you want you rams to have to defend themselves, rather than just stay on their side of the tank, either don't get a pair of kribs or make sure the tank's big enough.

Bolivian rams would probably be better with kribs than germans. I agree with Scubasteve, apistos and rams make a great combo.

How much do you normally pay for one apisto where you live??? I think they are around 40 dollars at my lfs adult size.

Replace the kribs with apistos provided the tank has large floor space otherwise stick with rams.

blue rams are great, but i was told that you should not feed them blood worm a lot due to over eating or something. can someone elaborate on that>?

Probably due to bloat issues...that is my best guess. I'd love to set up this 55 I have with a pair of german rams and pair of apistos and some cardinal tetras and a BN, but I can't figure out a way to fix the center brace...:nilly:
