Well, after looking at the info on caring for baby African Aros, their care regime in their early life seems to remind me to heavily of the sort of regimen you'd have to give for the smaller community fish such as Rainbows and Guppies.
THat being, said, the idea suddenly came into my mind that if I suddenly happened upon a group of young Afro Aros, I'd grow them out with smaller comm fish such as Rainbows, Congo Tetras, African Butterfly fish, and other relatively small comm fish as compared to the monsters they'd live with in the future.
How long do you think such a setup would last before I needed to switch the Afro Aros out of the tank?

(they no likey) I'd say starting out in a 55gal for 3months then to 180gal+. Afros really wont take the sized fish a normal aro does IE a 16" Afro wont take a 4" congo down BUT a 26" Afro might...Try it it's what I'm doing in my 180gal
