Hey all

I have always wanted my own snake! now I have a 6x2x2 with a crack in the base so I cant use it for fish, was thinking of using it for a snake, a friend said glass is no good for snakes, stated that they dont like a space all open, so I was thinking of painting the sides. I have tried to google this but nothing much comes up about using glass so wondering if it is safe? I notice lots of the ones sold in shops are wood but I believe this would be because the are more easy to work with! any feedback on using glass would be great!

Thanks MFK

all my snakes ive had have been in fish tanks just have substrate at the bottom and its fine ive had alot of snakes and i have never heard of not keeping them in glass what kinda snake you going to get?

I am looking at a jaguar or jungle or diamond or green tree python but I believe they are a better option once your good with snakes, I dont like little snakes lol but I dont want the snake to see my girlfriends dog as food when he get grown haha!

Could any of you upload pictures of your setups in glass if you have time? would be really helpful being able to see how you have yours setup!

Thanks for the feedback guys, I can finally use that dam tank! haha if I was to section it off into 3x2x2 x2 could I keep 1 snake in each side or lizards on 1 side and snakes on the other or too small? I believe 4ft is the best size for pythons but they are never 2ft wide reason i ask!

yes things like GTP prefer some privacy. I ahven't had any issues keepign any snake in a glass enclosure though as long as it has a secure lid.
