I have a extra 130 gallon tank and was thinking of putting it outside away from sun . Has anyone done it and had any problems.

My 180 is on my patio right now. I just keep it under the roof so it doesn't get rained on. Just make sure you thoroughly rinse it out before using it. Putting it on one end is what I do to stop water from pooling and limit the amount of crap that gets in there.

I had the frame on a 55g break down when I left it on my porch over the winter. So I would recommend against it. temperature shifts alone do damage and UV rays destroy plastic.

I have kept tanks outside filled from spring to fall, and even in half shaded areas would get serious algae blooms. That said, the fish thrived in the pea soup colored water, and even spawned.
When I tried to keep tropical species that needed stable temps, most died in tanks as large as 300 gallons, so I learned it was best to only keep fish that could handle diurnal temp swings, such as the cichlids of Uruguay, or labyrinths from Korea and China, temps would swing from upper 80s during the late afternoon, down to 60'F and below after midnight, in what is probably a similar climate to yours.

you can put a tank outside away from the sun. algae will grow easier because of any extra sun from being outside but that isnt really a bad thing. Its probably beneficial if anything
