i just cant seem to keep them alive past 1.5 days...
i have an air hose running in the tubifex tank.
i keep the water level very low....like just above the tubifex worms.
ive tried changing the water regularly, ive given them fish food, and i still cant get them to survive.
any tips on keeping them long term?
i dont want to have to go to the lfs every 2 days to get them...and frozen is not an option for me.

The usual way is to let water drip steadily on them and allow to over flow. Some people keep them in the toilet tank (in a container), so that every time the toilet is flushed, the water is refreshed. Personally, I wouldn't use them as there is too much risk of pathogens or parasites.

i have mine in a plastic tupperware in the fridge. just change the water everyday or other day and you'll be good. ive have this last couple ounces from the LFS for 2 weeks now.

I dislike tubifex, personally. Does your lfs offer blackworms or bloodworms? I've had good success keeping both of them for 2-3 weeks at a time. I like a wide surface area and place the water 1/2 inch just above them. Then i change water daily. Good luck with your worms.

All u need is to put tubifex worms in a bucket of water half full ,change water regularly & also strong air bubble.

thanks for the info!
but i dont buy so many that in need a bucket.
2 dollars will already last me a week or more...IF THEY SURVIVE.
i use a plastic container?
do i keep water just above their level or higher?
since you said half full...im assuming higher.
