I got these two fish in mid June from Wes at 2.5" Thankfully they were pellet trained already. For a week or so, both kels ate NLS pellets exclusively until one started to like the taste of shrimp/tilapia. Within a couple days, it wasnt taking pellets anymore. The other remained on pellets. It's now been just over 4 months.

This should be a good comparison in development with different diets

Both fish are 8-8.5" and in a 150 growout

Fish 1:
Eats NLS pellets only
Darker Gold tone
red finnage (pic doesnt show)

Fish 2:
Eats Shrimp, Tilapia, and Bluefin
Yellow tone
Bulkier overall

That's insane. I feed my bass shrimp (with shells) and massivores and get this.
I had this guy the longest of my collection. So he sets the platform for my other bass.

Every thing in my eats massivores and shrimp. I might have to try NLS one time. But, I'm happy with all of my basses color.

Wow I've always wondered the difference in colors when feeding pellets vs fish fillets, shrimp etc. Which one looks the best in person in your opinion?

hard to say as they're both very different. If I had to chose though, it'd be the pellet fed one. I like the contrast in body color to fins on that one. Plus, it's always a show eating floating pellets haha.
