Am about to purchase 2 kelberi pbass around 4" and just wondering all the nessesary things like temp of tank, general diet, and growth rate/ size they should max out at. So any help from you experts out there would help out alot.

growth rate? pretty fast, ive had my orinos since saturday and i can already tell they grew a bit.

Food? depends, if yours is from rich, your kelbiri will probably/most likely eat pellets. if not, he going to want live feeders or blackworms(like mine) and if yours only eats live, try and convert it to pellets as soon as possible. which is what im tryin to do.

Size? eh not sure, this is my first time keeping pbass, i believe there growth slows down at 15".

Temp? i keep mine at 79-80

But im with you, first time keeping pbass, so if im wrong, please correct me :D

kelberi's should grow faster then a orino, since orino have a slower growth rate then all the other pbass out there

food - depending on the previous owner on what it was eating. they can eat blackworms, frozen blood worm, freeze dried krills, market shrimp, frozen tilapia, frozen silversides, guppies, goldfish, roseys, pellets.

temperature should be at 86-88 for baby pbass, that way they dont get ich, once they get bigger you can lower the temperature

i think a kelberi maxes out at 15 inches?

im not a professional in keeping pbass, but thats what i have been keeping lately for the past 3 months, and its been going great for me. alot of people will chime in here and give you more information needed to take care of these nice species.

post some pictures of the kelberi when you get them.

I will don't worry I have read these guys are kinda late bloomers and start to get that beautiful color later on when they are about 10" or so anyone explain that?

temp- 87 degrees

diet- expect them to eat only live... actually kelberis are one of the hardest cichla to get off of live but it can be done..

growth rate is extremely slow like orinos maybe slower

max out a 24 plus inches but most in captivity are smaller

yes and no.. most take a while to gain color but I have one that had full spangles at 6 inches.. can't tell you why.

Alright thanks boosten I was waiting for you to come on here. So keberis and orinos grow at about the same pace? That's good because I might pick up some orinos pretty soon also
