This little guy was in it's own 20 gallon since the shipment arrived months ago because he was just about dead… Now look at this fish. It is only 3" tops & it shines more than most 10" Cichla!:

It's only about 4 inches now… The original post was less than a month ago. The difference is the fish has bulked up a lot. It is eating real well & seems to bully the other 2 Ipatinga in this tank even though they are bigger! I have 2 Bahia in with this guy that are about 6-7" & they rule the tank, but are not too rough on the 3 smaller Ipatinga. Here is a pic of another of the Ipatinga to show how most of them look at this size:
