i just bought alittle over 6 inch kelberi peacock bass. i put him in my 150g tank and my other peacock bass started ramming him right away. My other pbass being over a foot and the other about 9 inches this kinda scared me cause i paid a pretty penny for the little guy. i put him in a critter cage and i dont know what to do.. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Right now the other cichla are just trying to display dominance over the little guy. And I would grow him out till 9 to 10 inches, because at 6 inches. It's risky. If you're bigger cichla get hungry he's going to be the first one to go.

so do i have to keep him in the critter cage in my tank to grow him?
i have other smaller fish in the tank. i have some smaller geos and a bleekeri but they never bother them. They only pick on the new fish in the tank and if they make it past the initial "initiation" then they establish them as not food and dont bother them at all. Its just making me nervous with this little guy because i paid so much for him and they were hitting him pretty hard

hmm..well i would try leaving them in there just feed the big ones really good and throw in food while hes in there when you put him in so it would distract the bigger pbass for a while

Or they will think its on over sized feeder and it's their lucky day lol. Put him in, feed all of you're cichla, and since the will be busy feeding they shouldn't bother him for a little while.

yea haha im growing my orino, ocells,& monos and there to big for the new baby pbass i just bought i got a new batch of them because i love training them all on pellets :)
