Kelberi Questions!!

ok so I have a number of question about my new cichla kelberi

1. What is there growth Rate?

2. Minumum tank size for 8 Kelberis?

3. Whats the best food?

4. Where are they from, or any additional info?

I just resently got 4 cichla bahias kelberi at a lfs for 30$ a peice. I got 4 cuz they where cheap, but they get them in once a week. I'm into cichla but have no idea of eny thing about kelberi. So hopefully someone can give me details.

Growth rate is about 12-14" the first year.

Were they are from, who knows. They are not wild.

Foods.... What ever they will eat.

Tank size for kels ....96"x 32"x 30".
I personally don't think they are Kelberis.


As for more info, keep them eating.

X2 Kels are usually $100 .

Ehhh they are probably F2 Bahias... I know someone here on the forum that is mass producing these guys form his bahia pair and is selling them for dirt cheap. The price sounds about right.. Enjoy your fish bradda, hopefully they turn out to be what you are expecting.

I had a couple small spawns which are just about gone. I know Im not the only one to spawn Kelberi. I have no idea what generation and will never know if there previous generations were from the state of Bahia. I did not sell fish to this store. I also could never speculate what or how many other breeders are producing. Nice pick up Joe.
