Kenyan Sand Boa feeding

Here's my new baby, having her 2nd feed in my care. Me and another MFK'er were hanging out at my house, and I decided to feed my Boa, and he decided to take some pics In case you're wondering, here's how we fed her:

We put her in a bucket with a thin layer of aspen. We let her burrow. Then we located her head, and bounced a frozen pinky around on top of it. She took it almost instantly.

Why wont you keep her in sand?

Too much of a risk of impaction. Sand also holds too much moisture, while moisture pretty much rolls off the aspen shavings.
