I have 1 male and 4 females in a 75g with yellow labs, red zebras, and snow white socolofis, everything with the same ratio 4-1. I have noticed 2 of the kenyi females have a yellowish tent to them but i vented them and i am pretty sure they are females, about 99%. They are about 4in, so i think they are pretty much done growing. Could they just be from a poor bloodline, or something?

P.S. Hope scotty doesnt read this, cause he will bash me for using a common name that doesnt exist anymore!:nilly: :nilly:

they could just be moody or ready to breed. i have some AC that changed color all the time. one in particular was solid blue when i bought it, them it turned to yelly/gold with stripes and when i got rid of it, it was yellow and purple. never did figure out what it was. kenyis are beautiful fish. im fixin to get some more kenyis tonight. goodluck with them

Kenii males are blue as juviniles, and turn yellow as adults. The females start and stay yellow.
Here is a set of pictures of the same male fish, juvenile and then as an adult.

you mean they all start as blue. males turn yellow, females do not change... but females can and have been known to show male coloration at times...
i have a kenyi that was blue , then yellow, now hes blue again. hes 3" and a bully:nilly:

if was yellow, may still be a male, not coloring up yet... often fish from stores will have been given hormones, and when they wear off they still have to grow up... I have also bought some "males" when I first started that ended up losing the color and were in fact females... she was just holding...lol
