i have this kenyii and i think it is in the process of changing color. i'm guessing it's really a girl, that is somewhat blue and changing yellow? can you tell and see the yellow parts? is this what it is?? i've previously read that while they're young, some stay blue until they mature and change yellow for f and stay blue if they are a male. or is it the other way around??? help me. this crap is so frustrating. :swear:

Lol nothing to worry about...its a male in the process of changing colour. All kenyi are born blue. Females, and often subdominant males, will stay blue for life. The dominant male will change from blue to a gold colour...which is what yours is doing :)

i really appreciate the feedback.

Sinisterkisses is absolutely correct. Once the males start to mature they change colour. In most of the fish that are born the same colour it is the male who will change colour at around 4-6cm. Had a male and two females but lost them when my tank broke. Would love to get a couple more. :naughty: :woot: :clap :headbang2
