can i have 2 kenyis with a firemouth?

It is a bad mix. Kenyi can be very nasty. Firemouths are not very well equipped to deal with them.

i have that combo my tank is nomadicly agressive so it works...my african tank isn't you typical african tank though...i have the firemouth, 3 balas, 2 bgks, ropefish, silver gar, a lmb... i might be forgetting something else in there also...it worked for me...may work for you...my kenyi is an adult male at 5-6"... here is my set up for ex. my african tank

100% no!!!!! i hate seeing S/C.American's with African cichlids, the PH is not the same so it is hard on your cichlid's....but then if you dont care?! do it have fun...

if you reaD THE POST BEFORE you would understand that i took them back to the store PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU POST:D

Awww... why did you take them back? I have a Firemouth in a 40g with 5 Kenyis 1m 4f, 4 lemon drops 2m 2f, 4 peacocks 2m 2f, and 5 corys. There is no fighting really, what is even more interesting is that the corys if anything will bully the cichlids on occasion when they are annoyed enough. I also feed them Tetra color, feeder fish, and any fresh marine plant life available at the local pet store. I found that they all became less aggressive/territorial with controlled overcrowding. Added a second B.M.C. filtration unit and there isn't even a problem with cleanliness. pH is set around 7.9/8 with the crushed coral bedding, none of the fish seem to be having any problems what so ever, other than the fact the love reorganizing the gravel at night.

ahh your tank is very overstock

I actually have a Kenyi in my SA/CA tank. He was way too aggressive in the AF tank so I removed him and put him in the tank figuring it would never work. He has been in the SA/CA tank for over a year now and has no issue and is actually a lot less aggressive although there is the occassional spat.
