So I have an Asian Red-Tailed cat in a tank alone right. but he spends all day in his cave and the tank looks empty and dull. I know it is suggested to make a hiding place for these cats when they get scarred but could i keep him in there without any shelter. if not, does anyone have any suggestions about a hide-out where he can be easily observed. he's around 7" now. thanks alot!:)

i found another thread on this site that suggested removing hiding places to make the fish more active. they also said it may make the fish more personable once they get used to the human traffic.

You can do it but be sure that you wont scare it... He might jump or run and bump whatever is in his way... He might break your tank...
