Hey guys figured I would document the growth of my monster cats. I already have a RTC and just paid Snookn21 (John) for a 2.5"ish Planiceps. Should be here next Wendsday. Hope you all enjoy my journey.

:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

To start:

5/23/2011
Purchashed 2"ish RTC. Named him Milton.
Tank Stats:
Temp: 82 degrees
Tank Size: 20 long (only grow out)
WC: 50% Daily
Filtration: None. 12" airstrip and Koralia 2 powerhead
Diet: Earthworms, trying to get him on fillets

Will get a 100% length on him tomorrow.

well after a huge storm we had here in the ny/pa region I'm out of power. I'm hoping it will be back on soon because I don't need my fish dying from lack of oxygen. I didn't feed this morning for the reason of not wanting to make stuff worse with no power to the tank.

Will keep you updated as the day progresses.

If you can't get the power on, try getting a hose to siphon water out of the tank back into the tank somehow... That will help.. Maybe get a battery operated aerator. Wrap your tank in blankets if its cold.

Good luck

What? It's a good idea in theory, and will create some motion in the water to help with oxygen. I don't see the problem. I know it's probably not an easy thing to do, but it's worth a shot.

Thanks for the idea Jessica it's much appreciated. I have been swishing my hand around in the tank to keep some oxygen going. The tank is still pretty warm but I will wrap it in blankets. Driving down the road this morning there are powerlines down everywhere. To top everything off I think I have a stomach bug and have been puking since yesterday.
