Anyone else on these boards own Keyhole Cichlids? (Cleithacara maronii).

I did plenty of research before purchasing and was well aware of their supposed skittishness when I introduced them to my tank with reasonably aggressive Severums and Acara. Many websites suggested these fish needed Tetra or smaller shoaling fish as Dithers, otherwise they would be unseen. My plan was that if these were as skittish as documented, they could always be re-homed in my 90Gal 5' Planted tank with Rummynose, Bristlenose, Cory's and Rams

My tank has a huge amount of hiding places that aren't visible from anywhere in the tank, as the sides and back are enclosed, and admittedly for the first day they were quite scarce.

I keep a male and female together, and they're always by each others side but have shown very limited interest in breeding, however. I have watched them attack both of my Severums and my Chocolate, and are easily the most inquisitive fish in my tank, always watching me if sitting there with the camera, and not in the 'feed me' kind of manner.

Just curious to know other peoples experiences, and recommend them as a community Cichlid as even though they're quite plain, they're beautiful fish and certainly fun to observe.

I was debating on getting some, but they never really appealed to my tastes as i don't really find them very nice looking, and i haven't heard anything spactacular about their personalities.

Oh ya, is that rally in your avatar?

I have some in my 35g tank. Very shy cichlids.
They need lots of place/plants for covers.

Have tried comm-ing them with bolivian rams and festivums. :) But felt that they do best alone without other cichlids.
