So I have a few 'small' fish. Just a pleco, rainbow shark, gourami and maybe a few angelfish in the future. I wanted to know, can I toss the whole aquarium thing and just let them live in a pool? Heated and planted, indoors. I want to give them, mostly my Pleco, more room but do not want to pay a ton for yet another bigger tank that I will upgrade to and then sell the last tank for dirt cheap.
I was going to move all the sand, plants and HOB filters into the kiddie pool. Then add the heater and figure out a light system and then toss in the fish. I am planing on it either being in the main house, basement or in the garage right on the floor. Either way, I would add padding and maybe insulation around it later on too. I would rather it be in the living room than in the other places, since I will forget and loose interest.
There are 3 pools at Walmart, small for $15, medium for $20 and large with slide for $3o, I believe. Last one is the deepest and most room even with the slide. I might just get that one. How many gallons do you think it is? Would a 400watt heater keep it warm?

its possible i would rather go with a pond..

Pond costs too much. I do not want to put a lot into it. Kiddie pools would also be easy and cheap to fix/replace. I don't mind the weird colors either.

I was considering this too!!!! but id still have tanks indoors too though because i like seeing my fish from the side =D
