so ive noticed that i can come across every type of frontosa out there except the kigoma.... i only know of one man that has a colony which i bought mine from... are these rare? or do people just not like the 7 bands?

Agreed, they are common, but the really nice ones are expensive.

i got my fry from a w/c caught pair and they are f1, they are about 1.5 inches now about 2.5 months old, all their bands look full and straight and nice black colour to them, asides from the one guy i bought them from ive been searching everywhere for more from a different family and ive come up with nothing.

Where did you buy them? The issue is that they might be more common in the U.S. as opposed to Canada.

I don't think they're much more rare than any others. I've got a dozen F1's from "Finatics" fish store.
Is that where you got yours?
I don't often see "Bismarks" for sale. They might be a little more rare.
