Actually those kits are expensive. Those marineland or aqueon kits are like $50 for a 3 gal, has everything built in. What these stupid people did was they bought all this extra equipment, food, accessories etc. So they spent a ton of money. Which was stupid because they won't get anyone willing to buy all this. But the tank itself does cost a bit.
