Hello--

By the advice of my LFS I started feeding my fish Spectrum sinking pellets. They all seem to love them while they are sinking . However, once they hit the ground, they won't eat them. :screwy:

I just think this is really strange. Fortunately, my bottom feeder cleans up the mess, but I think that's really weird that they won't eat them once they hit bottom. They might even put them in their mouths, but they promptly spit them out.

Strange...

Featherfin probally doesn't mind...

mine do the samething i think it is allmost a territory thing kinda like with bass most of the time when a bass strikes its because ur lure or bait is in its territory not because it is hungry that is what is happening with the cichlids aswell thats what i think anyway

The movement of the sinking causes them to instinctively strike, but once the food is imobile it just stop being exiting. Basically this probably indictes that either they don't particularly like this food, or if you just started using this food, thay are probably unsure of what to make of it yet.

If they hit the bottom, then you're feeding too much :). Seriously, no kidding, people usually don't realize how nutritious pellets are, especially NLS, and overfeeding usually results in having some fish grow above and beyond what they're supposed to, and to pack some unhealthy chub.
