i have a eastern cost solf shell turtle. what type of filtration system would be the best:)

oh yea srry forgot he is in a 10gallon he is about 1.5inches and he is by himself.

I'd suggest a Canister of whatever brand you prefer.. The hoses will allow it to reach to whatever water level you are using, and if you get a large one, it will be able to accommodate for a while as he grows.

Their are several "turtle" filters on the market, most are small and sit under the water, If you dont mind cleaning them a ton, they are ok untill he grows a bit. Zoo Med makes a canister sold for turtles, but for the $40 id put that into a fish filter with a much higher GPH

If you want to use a HOB, they do sell aquariums with a side cut out to accommodate them. But with how fast turtles grow, I dont consider them worthwhile investments.

+1 invest into a high quality canister and it can follow your turtle as it grows from tank to tank because you're going to be out of the 10g before you know it.

ok thanks

I like using the Fluval Underwater filters for turtles,(when I ever have any)

The submersible fluvals are pretty good, but for anything bigger than a 30G tank or so I'd go canister.

ok thanks guys any idea about the prices

They gave you the information; now's where you use a tool called google :)
