I liked it a lot, more than the original. Don't get me wrong, the original was great but i just prefered this one. Better acting, more in-depth plot, such like that. If you do a search I think you will find that there was already a thread about the movie.

It was pretty good but I grew up with the original and it's my favorite. P.S....Don't waste your time on the 1976 version.

I saw it just after it came out,I am a big fan of peter jackson.I thought it was pretty good except for a few scenes and a couple of special effects that jackson used in the LOTR series that he thought would be a good idea in this one.I dont think that those few minutes in the movie ruined the whole,It was 3 + hours but a good remake of a classic which I am a bigger fan of.I give it 7.5 thumbsup

I loved it, thought it was done well in every aspect. Including paying tribute to the original, many of the props from the original were purchased by Peter Jackson (as much as he could) and used in the background. He kept it in the 30's instead of modernizing it like the '76 version. Just done well how a remake should be, I don't mind remakes if they're done well.
