I am thinking of buying King Kong Parrots.they are really cute. How many should i buy? i heard that keeping 2 king kong parrots together will fight.

Parrots are hybrids and because of that you can never be sure what their temperment is going to be like. IME they can be very docile or completely agro , it really depends on the fish. I would recommend that you buy three to spread out any aggression. Also try to stay away from the unusually colored fish as they have been dyed.(very inhumane) Stick to reds, yellows, orange, white or grey.

what size tank do you have?? thats the tell-all if you can keep two KKP together or not. if you have a 20g tank, no, it wont work. if you have something like a 75+, yes, you should be fine.

keep in mind that as was said, parrots can either be extremely calm and easy going, or they can be nasty as hell and chase everything in the tank down and stress them to death.

Mine is a complete dope....he/she is also in love with my JD. Seems like all the do is mock spawn on a continuous basis. My stepdaughter had 3 in her tank at one point and had no issues with aggression. Good luck I think they can be wonderful fish.

First pic is a few years ago...about 4 inches

Second pic is recent....around 8 inches

I'd love to have a KKP. My BP is very cool and has a great personality. I can imagine the same from one of these.

i agree. parrots have great personalities, and are another fish that can get to know their owners and even be hand fed. their definatly overlooked by alot of people just because of being a hybrid.
