So I was thinking about the little fish I've been calling ying wu (because of jgyu- macaw parrot), the apple of my eye/prize of my school of baby parrot cichlids. These guys are parrot attempts with too much synspillum and barred midas gene so they were culled as blood parrots, but much to my luck ended up in my home in a little reef of pipes and whatnot.

My favourite one, ying wu, has the most perfect shape I've ever seen in a parrot cichlid, he has no noticable deformaties etc with a perfect real-fish head shaped head, extensive pearling on the tail and beautiful bright blue eyes. The issue is that he just faded, and now he's totally yellow, although theres a red patch under his gills that comes and goes. Here's a picture:

Is he a king kong parrot? This fish is probably the best example of a non-deformed short body parrotish fish i've ever seen, which in my mind is what makes a good king kong (+ or - KOK, which i believe he def. has potential.), but does a king kong have to be red? or what?

What would you guys call him?
Is he a king kong parrot, a short body RBK (he does have lots of synspillum blood, though its more apparent in his siblings), or just a short body Midas/fader?

Thanx Guys

yeah me 2 but I don't have a good camera.

Thanks for caring by the way.

Funny story that, he used to live in a pipe that was buried in sand. First he faded to brown with black stripes and a red throat, blue spots on his tail.
Then he got a big white spot on his sides. Since in order to get in to his old house he had to scrape the side of the pipe, I thought he was hurt and missing scales and that thats what the big white spot was. But then, a few weeks later, that spot turned yellow, and it became apparent that he was fading. The rest of him turned yellow a few weeks later.
I guess thats not a really funny story, but I was fascinated by the way he faded in stages.

This is what he looked like when I got him, before any of the crazy color changing started happening. He was really little when this pic was taken

But is he a king kong parrot? or even a parrot at all?

Thats what i'm wondering
