pH 6.5-7.5. Not a good algae eater and likes to be provided with mainly meaty foods such as bloodworms and even brineshrimp. when they get bigger its worth putting pieces of shrimp in and they'll graze on that. they get to about 5" but have been known to get bigger. Quite a peaceful fish, which has its own territories (like many plecos). they are a beautiful fish, and relatively easy to keep. treat like the other Hypancistrus and make sure there is good quality water, some caves, well oxgenated, and a good flow.
