KIRIN OR BONSAI???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
A Kirrin is simply a cross between a flowerhon and a Blood parrot. They have the parrot head as these appear to.

Bonsai is a term to describe body type ...can really be applied to any fish, obviously used more in flowerhorns, but I also have a bonsai texas. Bonsai's are the shortest, roundest bodied basically a complet circle in body, the length is equal to and not longer than the height of the fish. If the fish is still short in body but its length is longer than its heigh then it would be considered a short body.

...upon watching the video... not all of their heads have the notch (that would make them kirrins ) some of these would maybe be considered short bodied flowerhorns , but most would be regular flowerhorns as their body length is 'normal... they are very borderline what you have here between kirrin and fh.

nice!!

You have some good looking fry. Do you Have pics of the parents? I am usually not a fan of kirrin/bonsai. Some look like they might be normal.
