Hey guys. I bought this guy as a KKP and know he's a bit small still. Doesn't have much of a pronounced notch so he should be a kkp?

May have to wait and see when he gets size and bulk. Sometimes the notch comes later. Could be a 'devil parrot' (75% devil/25%parrot) sold as kkp, too. They tend to be more elongated with no notch.

Try to grow them more, usually the mouth and longer body composition is a give a way. Search the site for it, there was a few good conversation about it here.

Looks like a regular parrot. It already has a notched head and it will be more noticeable as fish puts on size.
Where are you seeing "devil parrots" for sale? Last time I have seen the phrase was greg the crazy fish guy blog from years ago. Those were well documented as 50% parrot 50% midas also.
For an easy way to distinguish kkp from bp refer to breeding standards of ryukin vs fantail goldfish. Very similar.

I don't know of any for sale, but on fish sites individuals have bred 50% devil/50% parrot back to red devils in an attempt to get parrot fish males that are consistently fertile. The majority resemble devils but a smaller percentage have the parrot shape.

I would lean more towards regular BP, at best low quality kkp.
