KKP's always hiding?

I just got two small KKP on thursday.

So far, they are always hiding if I am home.

The smaller one is out when I get home but as soon as I close the front door and they are aware of my presence, they hide.

I'm disappointed because I thought KKP's were like FH and responsive to the people.

Is this normal or will they snap out of it when they settle into my tank more?

Thank you for the quick response. How long before they settle in?

Should I remove the driftwood hiding spots?

I am thinking that if I do, they may stress too much and die.
