Just wanted to write a quick review of the KLCC Aquarium in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, which I visited today.

I'd definitely recommend this aquarium to any enthusiasts who find themselves in KL. It's very well done, and has a great collection of "monster" freshwater fish that includes giant snakeheads, red-tail cats, tiger shovelnose cats, bichirs, lungfish, gars, aba aba knives, clown knives, peacock bass, arapaimas, electric eels, piranhas, freshwater rays and pacus.

The health of the fish was outstanding, and the displays were generally very well done, except for a couple that left me scratching my head due to the combination of species from different continents in a single tank.

One tank in particular featured four clown knives, a 2-ft. aba aba knife fish, an elephant knife and an army of tinfoil barbs. The fish seemed to be getting along OK, but I have to believe that this particular tank is going to have some future fatalities.

The Aquarium's amazon display was very impressive, featuring some absolutely massive arapaimas, pacus, red-tail cats, tiger shovelnose cats, and a solitary peacock bass.

The Aquarium also has a nice array of saltwater exhibits, including large sharks, rays, groupers, etc.

I would highly recommend this aquarium to anyone who visits Kuala Lumpur. It's well worth the adult admission price of $11.
