I really want to get some knife fish. I used to have 2 black ghosts, but one killed:WHOA: the other and then 6 years later that one died:irked:
For all you experts: Can I have a glass knife and a lace knife (not sure real name, but is gorgeous brown and a nice knife) and a black ghost and a black one.
This may sound like too much. Please let me know. It's almost impossible for me to get any except black ghost in LA. I I have a 125 with a fire eel (large) and 3 silvers. Which ones could I get that would get a long and do they have special needs? Thanks.

I don't think you will have a problem. It's hit or miss. Provide enough hiding places and food, all should go well.

Thanks a lot everyone for advice!!! What is a bgk? I do have hiding places and do not want any deaths!! It was tough on me to lose that one black ghost knife he was like a dog/fish pet. Thanks again. Can I put a marble ghost knife, a glass and a black? Sorry - just love them so much. My eel is huge - like full grown, so that's why hardly any fish on tank. Thanks, don't mean to be bugging you...

territorial..they'll kill each other.even if they are diffrent species.

Thank you so much. So, I cannot ever keep more than one together? - I'm kinda slow=(
I really want at least 2 but will keep only 2 if that's all I can have. How about a marble and a ghost or will the ghost just kill all knives!!! What about not having a ghost and choosing a marble, a black (not bgk), and an elephant nose and a baby whale? Is that crazy? Sorry but with all my research there is nothing like you experts and even my #1 fish shop will say, "you can try" or "should be fine." I don't like fine. I have fish that are almost 10 years old and whenever I lose one it's simply because my nitrates were too high or ph too low. I am now much better and try to keep things perfect. I don't want to lose one because I picked a fish or two that would fight or hurt each other. PLEASE HELP ME - I DON'T WANT TO KILL ANYTHING.

In my opinion a 3 foot fire eel is too big for an 18 inch wide tank, and what are the "silvers" you are talking about? And with an eel so big there wouldnt be much room at the bottom for knives
