Knife fish police

Soo my 13+ inch clown knife fish has taken a liking to a small convict cichlid I added to my 125 gallon the other day, the little guy was being a pest in all of my other tanks picking on his tank mates so I figured if he acts like a monster, he may want to play with them. Surprisingly enough he's still alive, it's been 3 days now and he looks perfectly fine. Every time my oscar (+8 inches) swims over to look at the convict the knife fish will almost defend the little guy by going out of his way to chase the oscar off, anyone ever notice this behavior before?

It is quite funny to watch the oscar will puff up and try to get big with the knife fish but one quick look and the oscar is hiding like a kitten in the corner.

I have a breeding pair of convicts in my 200 that chase everything away from around their cave except the clown knife. They just stare at eachother when he's around there but they don't chase him. He doesn't bother them either.
