I was wondering if you could house two different types of knifefish together. I was specifically wondering about one black ghost knifefish with one african brown knifefish and both being the same size when introduced. I've read a lot of posts about not mixing two of the same species together (excluding clowns) but none address my question. Thanks in advance.

Well I did some research online and I think I found my answer-a big no. Apparently it's the electrical current issue. I did read a few articles with it working for some people but that's an exception to the rule. I think I'll play it safe.

The BGK is very territorial and will not tolerate any other knife fish in the tank. The electrical organs that the BGK have are pretty sensitive so another knife fish will definitely mess with that.

Thanks for that extra info. I'm just going to get a BGK. I have a brown knife in a separate tank already so I'll enjoy the best of both worlds. Someday I'll get a CK. One of my dream fishies. :)

i've seen asian featherfin knife(notopterus) in with bgk and all seemed ok but as with other fish it may or may not work
