bought a clown knife 2 weeks ago. she's about 3 feet already and i placed her in together with a royal knife. i noticed the RK has been attacking the CK's tail but i refused to remove her because the CK was bigger than the RK. today however, noted the tail is rotting with some "worms". HELP!

You should have removed the CK earlier. Size will not matter anymore in this case as will in most cases depending on the personality of the fish. It's obvious the CK is not willing to defend itself and you make matters worse by not removing it immediately.

What size is your tank? A lot of knife species display belligerence and therefore should not be housed with another member of its family for this reason especially when their confinement is far too tight.

Do you have pictures of the fins? It is also suffering from finrot. If I were you, isolate it right now and in the separate tank, do daly water changes until it recovers completely. Rehome one of them. You cannot house both in the same tank regardless of the circumstances.

You'll probably need to remove it. The RCK has probably claimed the tank as his territory. Large Knives will usually be okay with each other if they were raised together at a small size. Separate the Knives. Bump up the temperature and add some salt and do water changes.
