Variety is always the best choice. I usually feed my fish frozen (when young) and then pellets. And now their diet consist of pellets, frozen pieces of mahi mahi (Costco Rules!), dried shrimp, and they get the occassional feeder treat once a month.

Yeah variety!, pellets as a staple, earthworms, chopped clams and fish as supplements.

Did you have to train him to eat flakes? I would like to feed my BGK more variety. He will only accept freeze-dried bloodworms at the moment.

Market prawn, low-fat bovine meat, earthworms, chopped clam, chopped squid, fedders, live shrimps... Even flakes and pellets. They usually are not too fussy, especially BGK's.

Best regards.

Daniel.

Just brought mine home with rosy-red feeders and he got at it pretty quick. Also got some frozen bloodworms haven't tried yet. How often do you feed them the feeder fish?
