hello, i've got a clown knife, and for my future 400-500 gallon tank, in like half a year, i want to extend my collection of ancients and a mormyrid is kind of my big dream, but my question is would a non electric featherback and an electric mormyrid leave each other alone? and for the species, im guessing like a dolphin mormyrid? or is another specimen better?

Clown knife is not an electric fish as u already know, so there will be no electrical interference between the two species and I think that if they r about the same size and the tank is big enough with plenty of hiding spots they will coexist. However keep in mind the potential maximum sizes of the two and that at some point the clown knife will be much larger than the dolphin mormyrid

hmmm, i thought dolphins could grow to about 2 ft+? clowns will be like the same size maybe a bit bigger but def not bulkier, also i have never had any problems with my clown knife with any fish, but i have to think about it, at least till the tank is here:p

It all depends on the fish. Some have had luck, and some don't - all depends on their aggression towards each other.
IMO, I don't see too much of a problem with it, as long as they are both similar in size and introduced into an aquarium setting together at the same time (and well fed! Stay away from Live). I've seen Clowns be fairly peaceful towards smaller tank mates, but I've also seen them rip apart anything in their tank.
