I was at my LFS Saturday and I saw 2 knight gobies. They are in perfect fin, look healthy, etc. The guy says he has had them about 2 weeks now and is keeping them in freshwater. I want to buy both of them one seems a little larger than the other. I said I would wait. I want to learn some more about them. My understanding was most gobies are brackish, or salt I know some can live in fresh. I googled them and seem to get a mix of results some saying brackish some saying fresh. Does anyone have these little guys in their home community? Could you tell me a little bit about them? Their environment? Can they live with other fish? What do they eat? Etc....I have a 30 gallon that will be free pretty soon because I am moving the poly into the 75 gallon one the re-caulk is done curing. Is a 30 gallon big enough for 2?

Any help or information is greatly appreciated.

theyre mostly brack but ive heard of them in fw for life
they have big mouths and will eat anything

Yeah.30 gal is plenty for 2.I would actually suggest you get more and do a breeding project. They can be a bit agressive and are very east to feed and frow to 7.5 cm (3 inch?) I have a pair of peacock gobies and I love them =]]They are brilliant for a community tank.Yeah some knights need brack but if they're being kept in freshwater in you LFS then they should be OK!

Well I got them yesterday...let's hope they work out. I added a little salt to the water but nothing crazy. Pix as soon as I can figure out how to make them show up better, big gray blurs.
