knives with gar

always thought they were poor tankmates, but even solomon's saying they're passable. so should i attempt it? if there's even the slightest risk it wouldn't work i'll skip it.

my 12" royal clown is aggressive .. takes bites out of my O's during feeding if they get to close ... so they hold there own .. but i have never owned gar so i cannot give you a yes or no .. but i LOVE my royal clown

RCK are more of a fin nipper and CK are a bit lay back when it grows big especially with other larger fish. I both have RCK, CK, GCK and AK with my longnose gar and florida gar. They are all doing fine together.

I have tried it twice….my normally easy going Tropical made very short work of a Clown and a Royal…. Similar sized fish, each time the knives were too big to be seen as food….made nice meals for my Polys…

Wow your Knives must of been a lot smaller than the others-especially if they got eaten by a Bichir-since CKs get larger and have much more of an attitude than any Bichir I know of
